They do not charge to attend your property. You would only be charged if they carry out work, which includes fault finding, minor repairs, fixing a problem etc.
For quoting, they will come round and look at the work you need doing and give you a quote free of charge. There is no obligation to use them after they have been round for a quote. It’s just the best way for them to see the work you wish to have done and give you an accurate price.
Is the electrician fully qualified ?

Also if they supply any parts the manufacturers warranty will be passed onto you and they will replace/fix any component or fixing in the unlikely event quality issues arise whilst it is under manufacturer warranty plus their labour will be free of charge to do this for the first year.
