If you want to increase the natural light inside your home without installing additional windows, you may wish to consider roof lights or roof lanterns. Roof lighting has been used for many years, but the modern advancements in the technology have allowed for a greater range of options including easy open designs and double glazed models. Our recommended experts are experienced installers of a variety of roof lanterns and roof lights, including flat flush lights, supplying, installing and even repairing your roof lights. This complements the roofing expertise to allow our customers a full service for all things roof related.
Roof lanterns offer an excellent option for homeowners looking to create a stunning showpiece in their property. These architectural features can channel light from all angles to make your room feel and look bigger. Lanterns can open up the ceiling of your room to the sky to maximise light flow and provide room height to adjust the room ergonomics.
The construction of a roof lantern does rely on the use of glazing bars to provide support for the glass. This is visible from underneath, but there are a number of styles that can minimize the impact of these bar connectors, yet allow plenty of light to flow through into your room.
Roof lights are an excellent choice for dormer bedrooms, attic rooms or flat roofs. They can provide additional light into a room without the need to install new windows. This can be particularly beneficial if planning permission may not be granted for installing windows because of constraints such as overlooking neighbours. Regardless of your room orientation, roof lights always face the sky and can provide light on even the gloomiest of days. A roof light can be a fantastic feature if space is at a premium or you don’t want it to be seen from outside. Roof lights sit low on the room and can instantly brighten up your renovation or extension and provide ventilation if necessary.
The most significant difference between roof lanterns and roof lights is the appearance. Both externally and internally, roof lights are barely visible from the ground, whereas a roof lantern can provide an impressive architectural feature to any building. If you have a limited budget, a roof light could offer a more cost effective solution.
Regardless of whether you opt for roof lanterns or roof lights, it is critical to invest in quality glazing that will provide far better insulation to minimize the risk of cold spots in your room and reduce any external noise.
If you are planning a renovation or extension and want to increase the light into the room, you may wish to consider roof lanterns or roof lights. Fortunately, we are here to help. Our recommended experts would be happy to discuss your requirement and help you to determine the best solution for your project. We can help you with supply, installation, and repair of roof lanterns and roof lights to ensure that your home looks its best.
After noticing signs of a leak, Alan promptly came to assess my roof and tell me what work was needed, which he completed quickly for me the following week. The whole process was stress free and fairly priced. It hasn't rained yet, so fingers crossed there'll be no more leaks!

Prompt attending both for the quote and the repair. Job was done well. We will use them again, if necessary, and have already passed on their details to close friends.

We had a good experience with Les and 'his lads' when they mended my daughter's concrete tiled roof. We were shown photographs of the work to be done and Les explained the quote. We were keeped in the loop throughout the works with more photos and detailed explanations when required. The guys worked politely and diligently throughout. We had only one problem caused by the scafolding firm Les was using, who were careless in removing the scaffold where they broke a corner piece of guttering. Les replaced the piece the next day no questions asked and also straightened some tiles on the side of the house not included in the original quote, no charge.

Asked for a quote on a leaking flat roof and repairs on a gutter. Paul was prompt and professional, gave a clear description of the issues with a video and carried the work out to a great standard. We’ve just had some of the heaviest rain I’ve ever seen and no leak! Highly recommended.
