Finding a good quality electrician is hard to come by these days. Knowing if they’re even qualified to carry out the work, are reasonably priced, fully insured and will turn up when you need them most are constant concerns we all have.
That’s why at My Trusted Expert we’ve made it our mission to find the one truly exceptional and trusted electrician per town that ticks all the right boxes and are up to date with the very latest regulations to make sure your job goes as smoothly as possible.
They go through our thorough qualification process to make sure they meet all our expectations which only 5% succeed and once they become our expert we constantly monitor them to ensure they are always delivering to highest possible standards.
All our electricians are both these things so are fully qualified.
This guarantees all work carried out will meet the UK national standard, BS 7671 (requirements for Electrical Installations) which ensures your electrics are installed safely and correctly.
Plus once the work is finished you’ll receive an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Work Certificate that confirm the work carried out meets BS 7671 as well as a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate to confirm the work meets Building Regulations.
By law, all homeowners and landlords must be able to prove that all electrical work meets Part P, or they will be committing a criminal offence. Local authorities can make you remove or alter the work if it doesn’t meet building regulations.
Also when using a non-registered or certified electrician you are responsible for contacting your local-authority building control regarding your electrical work which does incur a fee whereas by using a certified electrician they take care of all this for you.
Many electricians charge a flat rate call out charge regardless if they fix your problem or not.
We don’t feel this is right. Why should you have to pay someone to come round and potentially leave you in the same position as you were before they even arrived. It’s not right.
That’s why we’ve made sure all our electricians do not charge a call out fee.
Meaning, they’ll come round to have a look at your problem and if they can fix it they’ll let you know the price to do it and its up to you if you’d like them to go ahead but if they can’t they’ll tell you there and then and you won’t be charged.
The only exceptions to the rules are for emergency late night call outs. Meaning, if you need someone round at midnight and when you actually want to hire them to check if you have any electrical faults.
Apart from these exceptions you should never have to pay a call out fee when using our electrician experts.
Electricians, plumbers, roofers, builders or any type of company that conducts work in a home or commercial space for that matter is required to have Public Liability Insurance.
This covers property related things like a broken window or any damage to your home by the company’s employees. Meaning, if they accidentally damage your ceiling while fitting your new spot lights or worst drill through a water pipe and flood a room, their insurance will cover the cost to put it right and not you or your home insurance.
If the electrician company you use doesn’t have this in place you put yourself and family dangerously at risk should something happen while they work in your home.
That’s why ALL our electricians have a minimum £2 Million Public Liability to ensure your safety.
To verify they have this type of cover, all our electricians have to provide us with their certificate or letter of acknowledgement by their insurer before they become our expert to prove they have public liability insurance.
Believe it or not, there is no law that requires an electrician to warranty their work for more than 30 days.
However, we believe warranties should be an essential part to any electrical job.
Electricians committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction should warranty their work for longer which is why we personally only accept electricians who offer a minimum of one year warranty on all their electrical work.
Plus when supplying a product/part they’ll warranty they’ll work for the whole duration of the manufacturer warranty for the part. Meaning, they’ll come out and fix/replace any part free of charge during the warranty period.
This way you’ll have the confidence of knowing you’re electrical work is being done properly and be assured if any problems do occur, it won’t cost you anything.
One of Neil’s electricians arrived and completed the work for my elderly mother. She’s very happy thank you.
Voltage were quick to respond to my initial call for help when I found myself without power. On arrival to my house the problem was quickly identified and rectified. I'm a very happy customer and would recommend this company.
Darren was the first person who responded me and checked the details of the work required. He offered quotes immediately. I did ask him t fit a new Kitchen Hood, TV Wall Mounting, and few new Electric Points. Very Professional and dedicated to his work. No excess charges, no hidden charges and very clean and tidy work. Won't think a second to recommend Darren. In fact for any future work, Darren is first on my preferred list.
Darren installed under cabinet lights for me at short notice. Polite, friendly and tidy. Will definitely use again is a lovely guy to talk to and he explained everything thoroughly for me. Brilliant price for the job. Thanks again

I had spot lights throughout the upstairs in my house, Jake's work is outstanding. Jake arrived on time & started work straight away, he also made sure he had covered his boots as he could tell I had just had new carpets laid, not only was I happy with the work he did he's also a really nice guy. I would 100% recommend him to family and friends infact I already have. Kindest regards Mr and Mrs Field.
Range Jake when our lights kept going off (RCD tripping) and he came as soon as he was free (checking first that it was convenient), less than two hours after I rang. He was polite, helpful, very knowledgeable and efficient. Also, really nice to see a trades person actively looking for the most inexpensive solution first. I would recommend him very highly.
Jake was very professional and courteous. He was polite and explained the procedure throughout and kept me up to date with progress. Jake was very efficient and tidy. He did an excellent job at a fair price - highly recommended and we will use him again for our electrical work.
We were really impressed by Neil and his team. Neil came out the morning after my initial call, assessed and priced the job and had his team out completing it 2 days later. We live in a house that dates back to 1908 and the lath and plaster can be a nightmare. The 2 lads were amazing. Extremely polite and good humoured despite the lath crumbling. They tidied up after themselves. All power restored and we have found ourselves our go to electricians. Would recommend.
I was very impressed by both their professionalism and their willingness to investigate and find solutions. The completed job was to a very high standard. After finishing they thoroughly tested their work and reported what they had done - excellent! I will certainly both recommend and use their service again.
Dan was great, very easy to talk to and did an excellent job. Would recommend him to anybody who needs electrical work done.
I was so pleased with the service provided by Williams Electrical. I initially had an online chat with a very helpful lady called Louise ( I think ) on My Trusted Expert, who told me in great detail what needed to be done and that although she had put my details on the system, she gave me Dans direct number and told me to give him a call. I left a voice message and he called me back within 15 mins and quoted a price and said he could do it the next day! He arrived on time, in fact he was 20 mins earlier than expected and did the job within 15-20 mins. I was one very happy customer! Will definitely be using Williams Electrical again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others. Polite, value for money and professional.
Dan did a little job for me. Nice young man who worked quickly and professionally. I will be getting him to do more jobs for me next year. Very happy with him and his work.
If you are not happy, we will work closely with you and your expert to make things right.
